HBO’s holding on to what could be Steven Soderbergh’s last motion picture for a while, and now we have our first real look at Behind The Candelabra (the first teaser was a whole lotta nuthin’). This is mostly made up of moments that we’ve already seen as stills, so they’re still holding back. It’s clear that Douglas has gone all in on this role though.
I’m also excited by the photography- Soderbergh has broadened out form his cold, precise aesthetic of late and gone for something more appropriately sumptuous and glowing.
The film premieres Sunday, May 26th on HBO, so it will be there when you need something fabulous the week after the Game Of Thrones finale.
