I would appreciate not being pushed, as I’m perched at a great height, and I don’t won’t to suffer a concussion, or other forms of brain damage. It’s – metaphorically – a humid tropical area often, and I oft find myself repeating to myself “I need to keep up.”

A QUICK ONE WHILE HE’S AWAY

The end of September promises nothing cinematically, and this weekend should prove it. Though Fame could find itself perched on the top of the box office, it’s mostly by default. Cinema is changing gears, and shortly we will be confronted with the Oscar also-rans, and we’re a little more than a month away from the beginning of the Winter season of A titles.

And that’s going to be a problem for Surrogates. It’s a Bruce Willis film where all the ads (at least in LA) feature half naked robots. I guess Pixar has some Anime fans. Hey-yeah. The film will probably open, but there’s not a lot of faith in this release. Fame may also get open, though it seems that dancing films do well in the first part of the year. This would be the first to buck that trend. I’ll wait until my friend Jeff sees it before I decide if it’s of the level of Step Up 2: The Streets.

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell opens on 115 screens. Hopefully, that’s it, if the film is as odious as the trailer. And then there’s Pandorum. Nope.

Anyway, my name is Ivan, and I’m an engine driver, here’s a Top five:

1. Cloudy with a Chance of Ballsac – $20 Million
2. Surrogates – $15 Million
3. Fame – $12 Million
4. The Informant – $7 Million
5. Pandorum – $5.5 Million

And then Sunday, I’ll light the way.
