Heat Vision is reporting that Darren Lynn Bousman, director of Saws 2 through 4 and Repo! The Genetic Opera (as well as the upcoming Mother’s Day remake), will be directing a movie called 11 11 11 that will be released on November 11th, 2011. No word on if there will be 11:11pm screenings of the film opening day.

You might be sad to find out that 11:11 has all kinds of connotations for conspiracy theorists and religious wackadoos,  hence the concept of the film. The 11:11
movement is centered on the emergence of that number in people’s lives
that alerts them to angels or spirit guardians trying to communicate
with them. Conspiracy theorists also point to the number 11’s
involvement in historical events.
Do a google search for some instant head-shaking.

Producer Wayne Rice (of Dude, Where’s My Car and Suicide Kings) thought up on the concept after seeing that the fateful date will fall on a Friday. He was impressed by Bousman, who has turned (the decidedly average) Repo! into a cult hit by constantly screening it around the country for the last couple years, and contacted him to see if they could get something together.

Bousman is working on the script right now, which will talk about how the gates of heaven will open up on that fateful day and something from another world will enter our earthly realm for exactly 49 minutes. The director will be making this something more psychological and less visceral that his last films.

“With ‘Saw’ and ‘Repo,’ my career has been
about finding new ways to freak people out; that’s what I want to do
with this,” Bousman said. ‘We want to take this phenomenon and give it
horrific purpose.”

Not sure it’s so much a phenomenon as a date, but hell, I’m game. Check Heat Vision for more.
