Only one more week until the Fantasia Film Festival opens up in Montreal, fiends and friends. Yes, that’s right the premiere North American film fest for all genre films that are bold, brilliant and bizarre usually make their first bow at this fest.
Among the many showing at this year’s festival is Darren Lynn Bousman’s adaptation of Repo! The Genetic Opera. It’s been a long gestation period for this one (Lionsgate still hasn’t announced an official release date), but it will finally be unveiled July 18/08 at 9:45 pm in the Hall Theatre. In the meantime, the Fantasia Folk have posted a brand new trailer for Repo!, which will hopefully whet your appetite.
Set in the distant future, after an epidemic of organ failures ravage the planet, the greedy corporation Geneco controls the cities by selling organ transplants. But there’s a catch: those who miss their payments get their organs repossessed by knife-wielding Repo Man. Alexa Vega, Paul Sorvino, Sarah Brightman, Anthony Head, Bill Moseley and Paris Hilton star.
