It’s been a long damn while since we’ve reported anything on Mark A. Lewis’ The Thaw. Hell, now that I think about it the last thing we blabbed about may have been the confirmation of Val Kilmer landing the role Dr. David Kruipen.

Moving along, the dudes over at Arrow in the Head have nailed down what appears to be the final trailer for the film. While it definitely steals some elements from John Carpenter’s The Thing, Slither, or Night of the Creeps, if you prefer to go a little more retro, and a myriad of virus flicks it looks like it could be worth a viewing.

Set at a remote Arctic research station, four ecology students discover a Woolly Mammoth in the ice, but in the process they unwittingly unleash a prehistoric parasite, which is released from said Mammoth. The hapless group are then forced to quarantine members of the research team and make necessary sacrifices, or risk infecting not only the rest of the team but possibly the rest of the world.

No release date as of yet, but word is it’ll hit screens some time in 2009.
