The new Heavy Metal movie keeps getting delayed, but producer Kevin Eastman may have found the perfect way to get it going: sign a heavy hitter like James Cameron to direct a segment.

Film School Rejects is reporting that the King of the World will be joining Zack Snyder, David Fincher and Gore Verbinski in creating animated sci-fi mayhem. Of course you have to wonder: does bringing on one of the most grandiose, free-spending and slowest directors of all time do much for your much-delayed status?

Meanwhile the director of Kung Fu Panda will be directing Jack Black in some kind of comedy segment, and Eastman says there are three other ‘jaw-dropping’ directors signing on. That seems to leave just Guillermo del Toro, Peter Jackson and Shawn Levy as the possibilities.
