There are a few new items online for the Black Swan, the psychological horror drama from Darren Aronofsky that has been taking the prestige season circuit by storm. The film begins its platforming release on the third of December, and I’ve included the schedule (so far as it goes) down below. First though, I wanted to share with you the new poster for the film…

I’m a big fan of the image overall, even if some of the details are strange (not digging all of the typography design). Between the binary color scheme, the challenging look on Portman’s face, the pose, the feathers… it really sells the tone of the film better than the other images released so far (beautiful as some have been). If you find some of the placement of elements kind of odd, I’d wager it’s because they were trying to give the subtle impression of a Swan’s profile, which is kind of demonstrated when you shrink the image. It could certainly be my imagination though.

In any event, along with the new poster is more content on the “viral” site, IJustWantToBePerfect.com. I told you about the site a few weeks ago, and since then more square have filled with content, including hints at the grossest body horror gag in the film, and a small taste of the club scene that, when viewed in a theater with full soundtrack, is an overwhelming experience. They’re careful to only tease, so check it out unless you’re hyper-strict about seeing nothing from the film.

Keep in mind there is a more straightforward website as well, which is where the platform list below comes from.  This is not a film you should miss if it is playing anywhere near you- it is an operatic, theatrical experience that demands the immersion only a movie theater can provide. If you care to hear the rest of my thoughts on the film (and they are extremely positive) you can read the review right here, otherwise mark your calendar and see for yourself.
