http://chud.com/nextraimages/jessicabiel120704.jpgWriting about the Justice League of America movie has already proven to be a war of attrition, and it’s not getting any easier. On the heels of the announcement that Jessica Biel was in talks to play Wonder Woman in the film, EW.com reports that the actress has passed on the role. We all thought this was a done deal, and that Biel was going to be the anchor around which a crowd of no-names would be moored, but now it’s back to square one for director George Miller and Warner Bros.

The filmmakers have apparently been seeing other actresses for the role, so it isn’t like they’re left empty-handed. Still, I feel like Biel was going to be their big coup, and the casting announcement upon which they were going to build everything else. While they’re still months out from shooting, getting the right cast together is a process they must be taking seriously.

Why did Biel pass? How the hell should I know, I just write about this shit. It could be the script wasn’t that great, but then again: Home of the Brave, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Next. It could be that the contract wasn’t to her liking and she was tied down to too many sequels and spin-offs. Or maybe the timing didn’t work out. Any way you slice it, this means we won’t be seeing Biel in star-spangled panties, and I think we’re all a little bit poorer for that.
