Black Christmas. Christmas Evil. Silent Night, Deadly Night. While there are some classics, it’s been a while since we had a great killer Santa movie to bring us Christmas cheer. (No, Santa’s Slay starring Bill Goldberg doesn’t count)
Fortunately Fango just found the trailer for the latest film from Dick Maas (director of The Lift and The Shaft, the remake that stars Naomi Watts and whose title is responsible for hundreds of dirty thoughts), and it just might fit the bill.
Titled Sint, it’s an action/horror flick about the strange Dutch legend that Saint Nicholas was actually a monster of a human being who tries to kill children every time there’s a full moon on December 5th. (Actually, according to legend he just stuffed them in sacks and took them to Spain- perhaps a worse fate.)
The trailer for the film’s pretty hysterical, looking strangely enough like a mashup between Halloween and Jaws. People, I’m here to tell you that you have not lived until you’ve seen cops shooting out of car windows at Santa Claus jumping across rooftops.
