Sarah Michelle Gellar will be briefly appearing in The Grudge 2 to pass the curse on to some other hapless TV veteran – Amber Tamblyn, daughter of West Side Story dancer Russ and former star of Joan of Arcadia.
The Grudge 2 will continue with the bold plotlessness of the first one, as well as the original Japanese version and it’s sequels, all which were directed by Takashi Shimizu, who will also be directing this. Honestly, I have run out of ways to marvel at how one man is making a career by essentially remaking the same movie again and again, and after seeing his non-Grudge film Marebito, I’ll stop complaining. I will note that my calculations show that there were five Grudge (or Ju-On) films in Japan, and now two in the US, all by Shimizu. That makes SEVEN films!
Tamblyn will be playing SMG’s younger sister. Big ups to production company Ghost House if they name her Dawn.
