The Crow remake really is cawing and pecking its way into existence.    It’s got a director in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, according to my Relativity press release, Mr. Popsicle Eyes is officially set to play Eric Draven.  That means you’ll be getting every whisper about this movie from now until it hits theaters.  Hooray!

And today’s news is that Alex Tse has been set to pen the script.   I don’t know whether that’s good or bad.  I’m inclined to think it’s good, but I liked Watchmen and its Tse-scripted tie-in, The Tales of the Black Freighter.    You may not have.  But I’m certainly interested to see how he “reinvents”  The Crow, especially if he can bring it back to ordinary-guy-who-goes-supernatural angle the comic had.

I feel like I should say more, but I’ll be honest, I’m still trying to wrap my mind around Cooper as the Crow.   I championed it, but it’s really a strange fit, especially considering the intriguing indie dramas he’s been circling.   But oh, how his eyes are going to pop under that grease paint….
