A Musical Number to Brighten Your Sunday

Boy, reading all that squabbling on Twitter over Godard’s Goodbye To Language being chosen as the best picture of 2014 by the National Society of Film Critics got me in a pissy mood. But finding this in my Twitter feed has really turned things around for today.

Because I only watch IFC content on Netflix, I wasn’t aware of The Birthday Boys and their show. This sketch is a brilliantly executed evolving joke about the inherent silliness and common tropes of musicals, especially Disney musicals. I actually had to wipe tears from my cheeks after this one, chewers. Enjoy.

The sound of his hand on the basketball hoop pole was what sent me over the edge. Bravo, guys.
