A few weeks ago I covered the wacky-ass Russian trailer for Branded, a film about a man discovering the conspiracy behind the marketing saturation in our world is not just about making dough, but perhaps forwarding a malicious alien agenda. Frankly, there’s not much about the plot that I didn’t figure out from the first trailer that gets illuminated here, but you do get a better idea of Max Von Sydow’s creepy performance, and glimpses at a bit more of the craziness.
I said before this was like a combination of They Live, Naked Lunch, V For Vendetta, Q: The Winged Serpent, and The Langoliers. I think now I’d add some Videodrome to that.

Apparently the campaign to sell the film is embracing the idea of out-of-control marketing by embedding 100+ QR codes in ads, website, FB pages and the like, all of which send you to special trailers, images, and pieces about the landscape of the film. Start snapping those cell phone pictures if that’s your thing…
