I know we have more than a few Blade Runner fanatics lurking around the sewer (I among them) and so I couldn’t help tossing up this embeddable version of a 1982 Blade Runner concept art book that has been long out of print. This is a book that goes for $200-$400 if you buy it used from a vendor on Amazon, so it’s not something you’re likely to find in the hands of the cross-legged teenager you trip over in the aisles of a B&N.
Filled with dozens of images by lead designer Syd Mead, Mentor Huebner, costume designer Charles Knode and even Ridely Scott himself, this is a cool collection of pre-viz artwork that you won’t see collected like this elsewhere. That said, I’m sure some of this stuff has been recycled in other books or on the mega-ultimate collection from a few years ago. Regardless, it’s a mostly lost little piece of film history that gets a new life on the web. Take a look.
