Milla Jovovich tweeted a quickie video of herself and franchise newcomer Li Bingbing, who plays Ada Wong, from the set of Resident Evil: Retribution. Other than the two hotties, there’s not not much to it, aside from it’s quite windy, and did Alice lend Ada one of her dresses? I’ve been out of the news game for a bit, and hadn’t really studied the cast for the film, which includes Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine, Boris Kodjoe as Luther West, Johann Urb as Leon S. Kennedy, a resistance leader, and Kevin Durand as Barry Burton.
But then I was surprised to find that it also co-stars former castmates Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Ocampo, Colin Salmon as James “One” Shade, Oded Fehr as Carlos Olivera, Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker. Last time I checked, all those cats were sort of dead, and especially, Shade was laserdiced like an onion. Of course, that means little in terms of a sci-fi zombie franchise, but still surprising nonetheless. Are we talking flashbacks, bad dream trip, cloning, some T-Virus shenanigans or just the biggest star-studded zombie line-up ever? Be pretty interesting to see Shadecubes rolling after someone trying to eat them.
A quick check with Wikipedia explains that Ali Larter (Claire Redfield), Wentworth Miller (Chris Redfield) and Spencer Locke (K-Mart) won’t be in this installment, as their characters have been captured by Umbrella. Which means they’ll probably be back in the sixth film: Resident Evil: Jason Lives. Anyway, W.S. is again directing in 3D, and the film will premiere on September 14, 2012.
And apologies ahead of time for the 30 second commercial for a nine second clip. But at least there’s valuable burger info to be gleaned from it.
