When I did my one on one with Jon Favreau at this year’s Comic Con, the room had the Iron Man teaser poster you see above. I don’t think you can take too much from that poster – the movie doesn’t even really have a completed script yet, let alone a finished Iron Man design – except for the fact that Paramount and Marvel are serious about this project. And that they have the beginning of the summer staked out in 2008.
When I run the Favs interview (hopefully in the next day or two), you’ll hear a lot about his thoughts on this character, including how old Tony Stark should be, how the Mandarin should be used, what kind of a universe Iron Man needs to live in, crossovers with other Marvel characters and the future of the franchise. Because Favreau is very much treating this as the first film in a larger series.
