***UPDATED: Two new cities added!***
Yeah, I complain about the screenings but even I have moments of weakness where I try to keep a toe dipped in the pond and this is one of at least two screenings we’ll be doing in January. As long as I don’t overdo it, I don’t see why we can’t do a few now and then. Maybe it’ll keep the movie pigs who only read the site for free shit coming around and giving us pageviews for an extra month or two. I get a few emails a week from people who are pissed we don’t do these and if even half those people are genuine CHUD.com readers it’s worth the effort.
That said, I want to do this flick. We did the first Underworld and since I went on set for this I’ve been kinda hyped about it. I wasn’t a fan of the first one but I think they got it right this time. There are at least some cool creature designs for folks who weren’t fans of the first and weren’t sold by a set visit in the Canadian tundra (Vancouver, my 3rd favorite city in the world). It looks good and what the heck else are we going to have to pick from in January. This is a Summer movie, it just happens to be coming out in the Winter.
For those who aren’t aware (and the success of the original on video tells me you are few and far between), this is the second film in a series about vampires and werewolves duking it out over the ages and the once-mortal guy (Scott Speedman) caught in the middle. Of course, the main selling point is Kate Beckinsale in tight rubber and she fills it well this time around.
Want to see it, dwellers of Atlanta, Greensboro, Charlotte, Birmingham, Nashville, Knoxville, Raleigh, and Memphis?
Use the correct link below and without forgetting to include your mailing address (that is tantamount when expecting the mail service to get it to you), answer the following questions. Try to make the answers more than a word or two and the enjoyment of reading these gets me in the envelope stuffing mood:
1. What did you think of our BEST OF 2005 articles? Links to Dave, Devin, Russ, George, Newell, and Nick’s.
2. How’s about the WORST? Devin. Nick.
3. What film are you most excited about for 2006?
4. What can CHUD.com do in 2006 to make the experience better?
