Done with L.A. Noire? Not interested in getting five stars on each case by making sure you always pick the single right interrogation questions? Soon you’ll have some brand new cases to tackle!
Starting today they’re selling a $10 L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass which will effectively pre-order all of the upcoming DLC packs, of which there is a total of seven. Buying it this way gives you 50% off the price of buying them individually. The DLC will include four unique cases, two detective suits and a collectible challenge. Even if you’re just interested in the cases and not the pointless suits it’s cheaper to buy it all in a bundle like this, and probably a smart move on Rockstar’s part.
Available today is the first of the DLC packs- The Badge Pursuit Challenge and the Sharpshooter/ Broderick detective suits to download for $2.00/160 Microsoft Points and $1.00/80 Microsoft Points, respectively. Preorder bonuses “The Naked City” Vice case and “A Slip of the Tongue” Traffic case are also launching today at $4.00/ 320 Microsoft Points.
Two brand new cases will hit soon as well, the “Nicholson Electroplating” Arson case (June 21, 2011) and the “Reefer Madness” Vice case (July 12, 2011), each also at 4 bucks.
Anyone in the Rockstar Social Club will receive a free download of the Chicago Lightning Detective Suit, which gives you a new machine gun. I’m not really sure who cares about wearing new suits in the game- yeah, the give you mildly upgraded abilities but at the end of the day it’s just a new suit.
I hope this isn’t the end for the L.A. Noire DLC- it could easily handle self-contained stories from various characters in the game, and since a game like this has limited replay value new content really is the only way to go.
