Fans waiting for John Milius’ Conan the King to ever get made will at the very least have something to tide them over – there’s a Conan animated film in the works. It’ll be the first time the Barbarian gets the theatrical cartoon treatment, and he’ll be voiced by Hellboy himself, Ron Perlman.
The film is called Conan: Red Nails, which is kind of a crummy title, and it also stars the voice talent of Mark Hamill, James Marsden, Marg Helgenberger (who was the subject of hate this past weekend in Atlanta) and the immortal Clancy Brown.
I have a feeling that this thing is going to be DTV in the end. And this is, of course, not the first animated Conan ever – Conan The Adventurer ran on CBS way back in 1992. Either way, I hope Perlman uses his Hellboy voice for Conan.
