Casey Affleck is going to kill Brad Pitt. Now that’s a career move.
Casey, suddenly the most desireable Affleck, has been cast as Robert Ford, one of the two titular characters in the Western The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Ford is well known as the guy who shot the famed outlaw Jesse James right in the back as James hung a picture.
The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name, although Hollywood cliche would indicate that the long title, which won’t fit on a marquee, will get changed. Andrew Dominik, who directed the excellent Aussie film Chopper, is helming this one, a co-production between Brad Pitt’s Plan B films and the Scott Brothers’ Scott Free.
The film starts shooting in two weeks, and as far as I know Pitt and Affleck are the only two guys cast in the thing. Expect more news soon. Or expect an intimate two-hander. Which sounds like a handjob term.
