This article has possibly the most confusing title yet seen on CHUD.com, but if you realize that it is my attempt to bring together catchphrases (or noises) from Napoleon Dynamite and Sling Blade, not only will it make sense, it’ll be strangely satisfying for you to say.
See, the premise here is that Billy Bob Thornton is teaming up with Jon Heder – the dude who played Napoleon – to remake a film called School For Scoundrels. The original, an English film from 1960, has been something Todd Phillips – the guy behind Old School – has long been thinking about remaking, but he was searching for a contemporary hook.
The new version, which sounds subtly different from the original, has Heder as a wallflower meter reader who wants to win the girl of his dreams. He takes a confidence building class, taught by Thornton – who also happens to be after the same girl.
The film will be shooting in October, with a 2006 release date eyed.
