I am not surprised that Old School director Todd Phillips is making a movie that seems pretty serious – after all, he left most of the jokes out of last year’s Starsky & Hutch. The director is looking to next adapt the best selling novel The Dogs of Babel, by Carolyn Parkhurst for Focus Features (ooh, semi-indie).
The 2003 book is about a linguistics [Note from Nick: This is an awesome, awesome book] professor whose wife has died. Grieving, he tries to learn how to talk to his dog, the only witness to his wife’s demise. Sounds like a laugh a minute romp!
The book is being adapted by Jamie Linden, who I can’t find on IMDB. But I know one of you madmen will figure it out email me.
