Crytek told Edge Magazine that James Cameron is a big fan of Crysis 2, or at least, the game’s 3D mode.
“James Cameron has seen Crysis 2, and he loved what he saw because his eyes are trained for 3D more than anyone else’s, and that makes me confident that we have a super-high-end 3D experience on all formats.” says Cevat Yerli, president of developer Crytek.
He goes on to say that the company worked for two and a half years on a project that was exclusively in 3D, so all of this knowledge has helped Crysis 2 to be the pinnacle of 3D gaming. “I’ll even claim it’s the same as Avatar’s status in 3D,” he boasts.
Of course 3D or not, the game looks absolutely stunning, a huge step up from the already-impressive original. Even though it’s yet another game where NYC is destroyed, you haven’t seen the city take damage like this yet. Check out the latest trailer and await its release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in March.
