Sorry for the lateness of this week’s entry, as you can tell by the title of this blog it’s been a bit of a crappy week.
First off my dad had a heart attack on Wednesday night. He is home from the hospital now but it has been a pretty scary couple of days. No one likes to think of their folks getting old or (god forbid) dying but this week has really made me think about how precious the time we have with our loved ones actually is.
Side note; up until he was discharged yesterday my dad was firmly denying he had had a heart attack and (in his words) it was just a touch of heart burn.
Naturally because of this we scrapped our planned weekend away to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. However once he was home safe I got an earful from dad for canceling our plans so reluctantly the wife and I booked a hotel at the last minute to go away for a night.
What the hotel didn’t tell us was that although it was a nice hotel with a spa and swimming pool it was also home to 3 sets of international rugby clubs this weekend. To make it worse they were the junior teams so the resort was of drunk French, Itailian and Spanish teengers.
After three hours of constant noise we gave up, got a refund and went home. Not exactly the romantic getaway I had planned.
Finally, as the icing on the cake the car I bought to get me to my new job (as the wife and I now work in opposite directions) turned out to have a cracked radiator, so I had to take it back and continue my search for a semi cheap reliable car.
The good news is that the new job is going well and I am enjoying it.
Thats it for this week, normal service will be resumed next week I promise. And who knows, the top secret joint blog project I have been working on may actually be published then…..
