I’m back. In more than one way. After a few scarce weeks, this last one i was able to watch a ton of movies. I needed to add some films to my list because I’m taking off for the long weekend and I’ll soon be transitioning to a new job. My 365 goal by year’s end is closing in. I need to push the nitro button on the Interceptor and get it done.
Here’s what i watched since last blog, for the two of you that read it.
- The Cutting Edge : The Magic of Movie Editing
- Miller’s Crossing (this was incredible)
- Barton Fink
- City Lights
- Evan Almighty
- Der Untergang
- The Last Of The Mohicans
- The Human Centipede
- Following
- Mad Max
- Mad Max 2 : The Road Warrior
That last one might be cheating. I saw it probably 15 years ago and didn’t remember much. Grabbed the Bluray version last night of the first two films of the series. And was instantly hooked in this world of post apocalyptic gangs and tuned up cars and mayhem.
It’s interesting to analyze the differences between the original and the sequel. And how the role has similarities with Clint’s Man With No Name.
There’s currently a very good thread going on here. Gayness discussion aside, very informative stuff. God that Interceptor car was a piece of beauty.

Following also impressed me quite a bit. It’s a great debut and it shows every single trait Nolan showcases in his later films but in a more raw form. Broken narrative, a love for architecture, mysterious characters, “twist” endings and even the scores are similar.
Next week I hope to tackle Cinema Paradiso and The Great Dictator. Along with the las 2 Coen bros movies i haven’t seen.
See both of you there!
