Originally released in 2005, PUNK: Attitude
went out-of-print years ago.  Don Letts’ documentary on the
beginnings of punk music and its influence on pop culture since it
exploded onto the scene in the 1970s, gets new life courtesy of Shout!
Factory in the form of a two-disc DVD set.

With
interviews of such punk icons as Henry Rollins, Thurston Moore, Jello
Biafra, and Chrissie Hynde — and featuring Tommy Ramone, Jim Jarmusch,
Mick Jones, Wayne Kramer, Siouxsie Sioux, and others — Letts put
together this critically acclaimed feature documentary that aims to be
more than just a retrospective of the movement and rather looks at how
it continues today.

“With
hindsight we are able to recognize it as part of an ongoing movement of
counterculture,” says filmmaker Don Letts adding,
“It is in that spirit that I made this film, not as a
nostalgic look back, but rather a way to move forward. After all, if it
happened before, it can happen again.”

The
two-disc reissued DVD set also includes two hours of bonus footage and
will be released on January 11th, retailing for $19.93.
