The list for the 15 films to qualify for consideration for the upcoming Best Animated Film Oscar has just been released:

- My Dog Tulip
- Summer Wars
Had there been just one more film to qualify, the list of nominees could have been expanded to five, rather than the current three, under the Motion Picture Academy’s current rules. Jinsha, The Illusionist, Summer Wars, and Tangled haven’t had their American releases yet, but will be out before the end of the year, which is the deadline.
Nominations will be announced on January 25th.
