While Nick and Devin have both seen Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World multiple times (Nick’s resoundingly positive thoughts here), I have not been able to do so, and remain as impatiently excited as most of you. I haven’t gotten around to reading the source material yet, but if Edgar Wright wasn’t enough to sell me, the trailers have done a fantastic job of perking interest. Universal continues that streak of fun marketing (that as far as I can tell, really gets the film it’s promoting) with this interactive trailer below, skinned in a delightful and detailed 8-bit interface (love the sound effects- make sure you pause at some point). There’s a ton of information, and it gives me a lot of hope that the Scott Pilgrim DVD will end up being a really special experience, if they’re putting this much effort into a trailer.
Monkey around with that for a moment, and let your impatience spike. There’s only a week more to wait, but it’s going to be a long one.
Theaters will be carefully blowing on their reels of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (website) and gently inserting them into projectors on August 15th. Cross your fingers they don’t have to bust out the rubbing alcohol and Q-Tips.
