How bad is the state of movie posterdom? The new poster for Buried (the Ryan Reynolds spends 90 minutes in a coffin movie that premiered at Sundance and that I reviewed here), which is probably the best poster I’ve seen this year, is just a rip-off of Saul Bass’ work on Vertigo (and what’s kind of a bummer is that 90% of people won’t get that). This Buried poster is great, but is riffing on what came before the only way to get a great poster into theaters these days?
