Just a quick mention of some on-set pics we got from BadTaste for the current shooting of the Anthony Hopkins film, The Rite. Wikipedia has the description of the film as that it centers a disillusioned young American who studied to become a
priest. In the Vatican, he learns to carry out exorcisms and finds his
faith through encounters with demons (via Wikipedia. Nothing overly exciting happening the snaps, but a couple of them do show co-star Colin O’Donoghue on the streets of Rome.
BadTaste says that they’re shooting in Rome. Monday they shot on the Aventino Hill,
near the Oranges Garden: Anthony Hopkins was walking and looked really
tormented. Monday evening there was Colin on a bus, near Marcello’s
Theatre. The day after they shot in Piazza San Pietro, near the Vatican
(the scene was Colin arriving to the Vatican), and in Borgo Pio during
the night. Next they will shoot in Piazza di Spagna, Pantheon, Piazza
della Repubblica. A nice promotional tour around Rome! An odd
decision was the choice to rend a bus from Ungary (including an actor
from Ungary) for a scene, instead of using an italian one, maybe it was
too expensive.
