web writers at WonderCon: What happened to the Iron Man 2 viral campaign? Compared to the Tron
Legacy campaign
– they threw a guy out of a fucking helicopter! – Paramount’s been
pretty quiet. We had a Stark Expo shirt giveaway at Comic Con, and
recruiters letting people apply for jobs at Stark Industries. Yet there
was zero presence at WonderCon, and the Stark Expo stuff has just led to
some videos. Maybe Disney upped the ante in ways that other studios
aren’t ready to follow.
But one thing that did come from the
latest round of Stark Expo-related viral videos is Accutech, whose logo
looks like it definitely could also be the logo for a certain pending
superteam. Is this a coincidence? Probably not a coincidence–
it’s certainly intended to get doofi like me to write about it – but I
doubt that the Avengers logo has been decided upon already.
But
let’s get all fan-ficcy anyway! Maybe Accutech becomes the arm of Stark
Industries that designs and provides technology to the Avengers
Initiative, which is a program under SHIELD? Could be.
