Clint Eastwood isn’t one of those directors whose filmography is filled with vivid associations; he’s no Martin Scorsese, who finds actors and sticks with them. With Eastwood we associate him with other directors, or with Clyde the Orangutan.
Which makes Matt Damon Clint’s new Clyde.
Damon has signed on to Hereafter, the supernatural thriller written by Peter Morgan, which Clint is directing next. The two just finished working on Invictus, the soccer-ending-racism movie that should be taking home some Oscars after playing in theaters this December. Sadly, ‘supernatural thriller’ is all I know about the film, as Eastwood is second only to Woody Allen in keeping decent synopses of his movies off the web. JJ Abrams could learn a thing or two from these guys.
