You can tell a lot about a person from the miscellaneous collection of
DVD’s stacked next to their television set. Every film we own says a little bit about us, whether
we’d like it to… or not. So I’ve decided to turn this uncompromising
insight on myself by analyzing my entire DVD collection… one impulse
buy at a time.
DAY 17: THREE KINGS
WHAT IT’S ABOUT:
The Clooney, Marky Mark, Ice Cube and Spike Jonze
(What? We couldn’t throw John Tesh or Grover from Sesame Street in
there to just to make it a little weirder?) venture into the Iraq war
(no not THAT Iraq war… the one we won) to steal some gold, blow up a
helicopter with a football, drink some oil and bathe in cow blood. It’s
a family film.
WHY I BOUGHT IT:
You know now that I think
about it… I think I stole this movie (Or just borrowed for a REALLY
long time.) I’ve got a few DVD’s on my bookshelf that I have no idea
how they got there. Casino. Run DMC’s video collection. Who knows? So
if you’re reading this and it’s yours… let me know and you’ll get it
back… but you better be able to prove it.
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT ME:
A
certain part of me likes to watch thess anti-war films made by
pansy-ass bitches like myself that would never actually pick up a
weapon and defend our country, but feel they’re doing there part by
pointing out the flaws and hypocrisy of the very system that allows us
to profit from them. Armchair revolutionaries of the world unite.
Hit me back. Until next time…
