The effort to remake Barbarella continues, and while I can’t really get behind it – especially with Robert Luketic, the director of 21, lined up to helm – I can make a recommendation from the deepest parts of my… heart. Please cast Christina Hendricks.
They’ve got a director, and as of now they have a writer (a guy named Joe Gazzam whose name sounds like a sex joke from the original film), but they still need a Barbarella. And who better to be the sexy space seductress than the buxom beauty currently turning heads on Mad Men? Hendricks has the looks and more than the required chops. And I would pay premium dollar to see her squeezing into some of the outfits that Jane Fonda made famous.
So please, Dino DiLaurentiis (who is producing the film): please hire Christina Hendricks.
