You can tell a lot about a person from the miscellaneous
collection of DVD’s stacked next to their television set. Every film we own
says a little bit about us, whether we’d like it to… or not. So I’ve decided to
turn this uncompromising insight on myself by analyzing my entire DVD
collection… one impulse buy at a time.
DAY 5: NATIONAL LAMPOON’S VAN WILDER
What it’s about:
Before Ryan Reynolds was cast in every superhero movie ever
made (I can’t wait to see his Wonder Woman), he starred in this true-to-life
coming-of-age documentary about one student’s fight against the perils of under
age drinking, sexism, and our dysfunctional higher education system.
Why I bought it:
The dog-éclair scene. (I almost threw up. No joke. If you
don’t know what I’m talking about, consider yourself lucky.)
What it says about me:
Seriously. What guy doesn’t want to be Ryan Reynolds? The
guy’s a funny Adonis for God sake. I’m also a sucker for anything Tara Reid.
The girl sounds like she gargles broken glass. Sexy as hell.
