Disney’s next 2D animated film, The Princess and the Frog, has a brand new poster, and it’s debuted at Cinematical. You can click here to see the whole thing.
A gumbo-ized take on the Frog Prince fairy tale, The Princess and the Frog is historic for featuring Disney’s first black princess, even though I think she spends a lot of the film’s running time as a frog. It’s a film that many thought would never happen, as 2004’s Home on the Range was announced as the final 2D, hand-drawn Disney film. But after Pixar took over the house, the mandate to bring the form back meant a return to classic Disney house style animation and character design.

The film opens in New York and LA on Thanksgiving and goes wide a couple of weeks later. There’s a new trailer, which reminds you of the majesty of Disney’s 2D animation (somehow Home on the Range is left out) on Apple. Click here to watch that.
