There’s elegant simplicity, which is a hallmark of some of the best Woody Allen posters – Annie Hall and Manhattan spring to mind. And then there’s ugly simplicity. The poster for the new Woody joint, Whatever Works, exemplifies that ugly simplicity. It looks like a quickie direct to DVD cover. Even Larry David seems to be saying ‘What’s up with this crummy poster art?’ I hate it.
