While the jury is still out on whether Will Smith will look good in a turban, the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea prequel, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea: Captain Nemo is proceeding apace with word from Variety that Justin Marks, most recently of the upcoming Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, is coming aboard to rewrite the script. The movie is on the fast track with McG still set to direct.
Marks is racking up some some pretty big name gigs, with this capping some recent work he’s done on the adaptations of the 80s toons He-Man and The Masters of the Universe and Voltron: Defender of The Universe. Marks also has a credit (along with half of Hollywood) on the Hack / Slash adaptation. His previous works include Unbroken and The Stranger. How he’s managing all of this while racing trucks is beyond me, but more power to the man, I say.
