It shouldn’t take much more than “From Prachya Pinkaew, the director of Ong Bak and The Protector” to get you excited about a new movie. Sure, Tony Jaa was a big part of making those films what they were (some of the best martial arts showcases in years) but the action was top notch. Now, Pinkaew returns with Chocolate, a story about an autistic girl with a chocolate addiction who kicks ass after watching a shitload of Tony Jaa and Bruce Lee films. The star (newcomer “Jija” Yanin Vismistananda) spent FIVE YEARS training for this role. Five. Years.

And now I’ll shut up and show you why you’re going to want to see this any way you can. Make sure to hit HQ for the HD version!

Chocolate is getting a limited theatrical run via Magnet this Friday, February 6th- check out the theater listings to see if it’s playing near you-

Boulder, CO: International Film Series
Denver, CO: Esquire Theatre

If it’s not, don’t cry! The movie hits DVD, Blu-Ray and HDNet Ultra VOD next Tuesday, February 10th!

But of course, a kung fu flick like this is just made for theaters, with a a rowdy crowd that yells after every insane stunt and really gets into the experience. I miss living in the Bronx sometimes…

Expect a review as soon as we get our hands on it!
