Are you waiting for Jurassic Park 4? Shame on you. But beyond that – you’re in for a disappointment. Producer Kathleen Kennedy told reporters today that the project is likely dead. All because Michael Crichton is.
Dead, that is. ‘Maybe that’s a sign that we don’t mess with it,’ she said, indicating that Crichton died so that Universal would stop developing a movie featuring dino-commandos*. It’s certainly weird reasoning. Why not make a kick-ass fourth movie to honor Crichton? You could have the dino-commandos killing scientists who promote global warming – that would really be doing something in Crichton’s memory.
What do you guys think? Should the franchise continue, or is it time to find a new way to bring dinosaurs to the big screen?
* yeah, that’s at least one idea that was floating around.
