Sometimes I forget Bryan Singer is making another X-Men movie and then the director takes to Instagram or Twitter to make an announcement and I’m reminded of X-Men: Apocalypse and its ever-expanding cast.
The call sheet got a bit longer today when Singer let his social media fans in on this scoop: newcomer Lana Condor will be playing Jubilee in the film. Fans of the comics (and 90’s show) remember that Jubilee is the young, new X-Man who can produce fireworks with her hands. And you thought all mutants had boring powers like controlling metal or reading minds. Fireworks!
Jubilee has been in previous X-Men films but was never a major part. Will she be a larger presence in Apocalypse or yet again on the bench while Magneto, Professor X and Jean Grey have all the fun?
Speaking of that cast, this thing is packed to the gills. X-Men: Apocalypse of course stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicolas Hoult but it also features Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Rose Bryne, Alexandra Shipp and probably more. How many dorm rooms does Professor X have at that damn school?
