There’s a new discussion on our forums that’s all about listing the weirdest movie couples, and Antichrist already sounds like it’s going to be a potential addition. The new Lars Von Trier (The Kingdom, The Idiots) film was already noteworthy for bringing the infamous director back to horror films, and today Variety announced the first cast members- Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, as the lead couple.
Put aside the two decade difference in their age and you just have the thought that these two would ever meet and fall in love. And procreate.
Yikes.
The English language film starts shooting later this month in Germany. There’s still really no story revealed besides the fact that this couple go to a cabin in the woods to recoup from the death of their child, where they find out that the Devil runs the world. It’ll be interesting to see how the former son of God handles things.
