The Juice is Played.
The only time steroids and baseball should be addressed in a court of
law is when a player is injured due to steroid use and has missed
enough time for his team to sue him to forfeit his remaining salary as
a violation of his contract. That’s forward thinking as opposed to just exhuming the past and dwelling on the stuff that really doesn’t mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. Let’s just assume that the majority of the public feels the “Juiced Era” is tainted with steroid use and that no player is safe from doubt. They’ll never get everyone who did it, and when the bulk of the tattletales who have come out have done it in the Bay Area and New York area, of course the findings are going to be heavily accented towards players from those regions. I have no doubts that if Kansas City trainers are dug up you’ll find players from that team who probably enjoyed a needle to the ass now and then as well. But who gives a fuck? The damage is done. No more money needs to be spent on this and no more lawyers and “baseball experts” need to bill people for time they spend bullshitting the same old rhetoric over and over and over.
Steroids and baseball has officially become an albatross. The damage is done. No one is going to look at Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds the same way again. You win, haters.
Now, moving forward…
Stricter testing. Stronger penalties. Media coverage about the sport itself, especially since today the pitchers and catcher reported for Spring Training for another glorious year.
How fucking difficult is that?
– Nick Nunziata is so ripped thanks to the ‘roids .
