Hey, remember all that hullaballoo about the Prometheus sequel we were gonna see on March 4, 2016? Well, forget almost everything you knew about Prometheus 2, because we have no idea when it’s coming out. A Ridley Scott project from Fox was announced for that date and a lot of the movie blogging community (myself included) reported that it would be Prometheus 2. Funny thing, entertainment journalism.
This Ridley Scott project that was slated for March 2016 turned out to be an adaptation of The Martian, the acclaimed first novel by Andy Weir. The film will star Matt Damon as an astronaut who is struggling to survive on the desolate surface of Mars. According to Box Office Mojo, it has a new release date: November 25, 2015.
I haven’t yet read The Martian, but it’s definitely on my wish list. Andy Weir’s self-published it on the web a couple of years ago, but Crown has since picked up the rights to the book and now you can buy it in hardcover. The internet is cool sometimes.
