I liked the ‘Breakfast Club’ better. Earlier this year, Paramount Vantage came up with an excellent Breakfast Club knock-off poster for the documentary American Teen. The classic image nailed the basic character contrasts at the center of the doc, which follows five middle-American high school seniors in a predominantly white Indiana town.
Now there’s a new image, which appears tailored for the Real World audience. Jake in particular (he’s the one on the right) isn’t representative at all of the kid you’ll see in the film. And while Hannah (center in red) still looks cute, it’s a TV cute, not the more personable, identifiable girl in the flick. But what the hell, the movie is good and deserves and audience. If this is what it takes, might as well accept it.
Coming Soon has the new poster as an exclusive, so click over to the home of Ed Douglas to check it out.
