At this rate, I’m going to have to add a Scream Factory shelf to my Blu-Ray cabinet before long. Scream Factory has been kicking ass with their titles this year. With Nightbreed, Lake Placid, Ginger Snaps, Dog Soldiers, Sleepaway Camp, Werner Herzog’s Nosferatu, and more arriving throughout 2014, they’ve been on a serious hot streak of cult films.
Stan Winston’s Pumpkinhead, a masterpiece of creature effects, has been one of their most requested titles of all time. And for good reason, too: it never made the jump to Blu-Ray. Earlier today, Scream Factory announced that Pumpkinhead will be getting a collector’s edition, featuring new, exclusive extras (and all the extras from the previous DVD collector’s edition). The disc will be released in September, alongside a Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings Blu-Ray. The sequel won’t be getting a special edition treatment, and I’m okay with that because it’s a goddamn disaster of a film.
Cover art is not yet available for either release, but as soon as I can get it, you’ll see it here.
