(CC? Yep, that’s Creature Corner. We’re in the process of figuring out how to merge CC into Chud, so until then expect horror news right here!)
Oh, you don’t know what you’re missing if you don’t go to the NYC Horror Film Festival. It’s simply the best festival I’ve ever been to. Both years I’ve attended not knowing much about any of the films playing, but came out instant fans of some up-and-coming directors. Without it I would’ve never seen the brilliance of such films as Eddie Loves You, Criticized, or Botched.
The guys behind the fest are already hard at work preparing for this upcoming year, and have put up an open call for submissions. Got a feature film, a short, trailer, or a screenplay in the horror genre? Send it in!
You’ve got until September 15th to get your work in for the fest in October. Head on over to the newly redesigned (and damned sexy looking, if I might add) site at http://nychorrorfest.com. There you can find all the the info about the festival and the forms for submissions. You can also see me in a few group photos wearing a Riki-Oh shirt and getting drunk with everyone at the after parties last year. Fun times, always.
On a side note, last year’s big hit at the fest, Botched (which we told you about on Creature Corner here) just hit dvd yesterday… make sure and pick it up! I swear it’s got the potential to be a cult hit.
See you all in October.
