You know what’ll be weirder than seeing a theatrically-released Star Wars movie sans the 20th Century Fox “Fanfare”? Seeing one without a new John Williams score. Even odder: Williams’s successor, Kevin Kiner, composed the soaring music for the embarrassingly derivative Wing Commander (which, you’ll recall, featured the second theatrical trailer for The Phantom Menace). But the guy scored Freaked and Carnosaur 3 (best of the series!), so he’s aces in my book.
In other Clone Wars news, USA Today unveiled a not-so-new villain, Asajj Ventress, who looks a little like Jackie Earle Haley with boobs (see below). Hot stuff. The “newspaper” also revealed that the trailer for The Clone Wars will debut Thursday night at 7:58 PM in all time zones on all the Turner networks (TBS, TNT, CNN, Cartoon Network and Boomerang). I don’t know about you, but it’ll be kinda fun to have two Lucasfilm projects of dubious quality to whine about.
And two more familiar visages…
