Something about Forgetting Sarah Marshall convinced Disney that star/writer Jason Segel and director Nick Stoller would be the ideal guys to bring us the next Muppet movie. It was either
– they worked well with the Jim Henson folks to make puppets for Sarah Marshall; Segel’s character is working on a puppet musical based on Dracula
or
– Segel shows his dick on screen in the film two or three times.
It’s a toss up, I guess. But whatever the reasoning for the decision is, it’s been made; the duo pitched their movie idea to a Disney exec and got the green light. When I head to Hawaii at the end of the month for the Forgetting Sarah Marshall junket I’ll be sure to ask Segel where this fits in with his show How I Met Your Mother and Five Year Engagement, which will reteam Segel and Stoller.
