I must say this lacks the elegance of the first trailer for Oblivion –which did a great job of drawing me into a movie by a director I am supremely nervous about– but having seen that teaser play what feels like two dozen times over the past few months, I’ll take it. Clearly they’ve finished more effects work as this look at the film is all about showing off some ruined monuments and big post-Earth landscapes. The vague allusions to a conspiracy are given a villainous southern voice, while Freeman gets a bit more action as well.
The film hits April 19th, and remains one of the most intriguing of the half-dozen or so slick, dystopian scifi films we’re getting this year.
